Before highlighting the significance of electing public representatives it is necessary to look upon the origin of this custom. In the beginning of human society there was no government, it was just a society. As society, as well as avarice, grew people began to usurp. Some of them stood more mighty in comparison to others. The innocent and defenceless sect of society appointed the mighty ones among these usurpers to protect them from others by contributing constantly with materials to them. In this way some mighty usurpers gained more power and were unintentionally selected by people to rule over them and protect their interests in return.
As time passed their arouse two malfunctions in this system. First was coalition between mighty usurpers and other was the practice of the same authority they were bestowed, by their hereditary successors who were incapable of holding this authority. So, society organically evolved and found the hereditary succession absurd by its virtue. People chose only that person and not his whole family and future generations to rule them. This system fell prey to avarice, nepotism and malfunctioned badly, adding to the sufferings of people instead of depleting them, causing number of civil wars within reigns.
By this time society decided to participate evenly in decision making, regarding the perseverance of their mutual interests. It was decided to set a uniform precedent that should govern by itself, without any human interference, the conscience of an event. In this way constitution came to its origin. The main aim of it was to refrain people from practicing the evils in them. It was decided in the constitution, to practice democracy, public representatives should participate in decision making, as it was unpractical to hold a meeting of all society members to make a particular decision. It was destined to hold elections after regular intervals, so representatives must not mend their interests against public benefits.
This is how a modern, civilised and prosperous society came into being. If society would ever try to deviate from this constitution, either due to avarice of public or public representatives, the peaceful momentum of the society will be disturbed and all of the human strength and productivity will be depleted, pushing society back to dark ages. Keeping in view these consequences of deviating from constitution, third world countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. are most vulnerable. Ruling alliance in these countries must include the public opinion in decision making to restore the public optimism towards prosperity and actually uplifting the economic stature of the states through mass public productivity which can only be achieved through former.
